A Culinary Bliss: Daily Cooking Routine and Personal Favorites
When was the last time you cooked for someone, and what did you cook? For me, it was yesterday, and I whipped up some simple but oh-so-delectable homemade sausage rolls! They are THEEE BEST!
I cook for my family, my wife, daughter, and son-in-law, almost every day. Additionally, I prepare meals for friends and visitors about twice a month. The last time was yesterday, when I made a hearty full English breakfast before dropping my daughter and husband at the airport.
Today was a bit of an exception, as the kids were away in the USA and my wife was at a party. So, I had a meal that only I seem to enjoy: pickled herring in a dill mayonnaise with diced apples and walnuts. It's a weird but delicious German dish that I paired with new boiled potatoes and crispy bacon bits. All afternoon, though, I made five different batches of ice cream for everyone to enjoy!
I am a daily cook, and I cook most nights for my family. We have one meal together every night, where we sit down, talk, and catch up over food. Last night's supper was ribeye steaks with mashed potatoes and green beans. The night before that, I prepared a one-pot meal with chicken, rice, ferro mushrooms, and green peas.
When I cook for myself, I can indulge in every ingredient I love and use my favorite techniques, such as simmering soups and sauces for hours. I never cook something that I wouldn't want to eat. For instance, I discovered that a dear friend of mine fears mince pie, which I adore, especially Gordon Ramsay's mince tarts. “Tonight Lucullus dines with Lucullus” is true for me; I can cook with my favorite ingredients without worrying about others' reactions.
I recently prepared a Mexican bean and corn casserole with cheese, followed by a pot of Swedish meatballs. My next culinary adventure is cooking English bangers and mash with red onion sauce. Soon, it will be time for an Asian soup.
My cooking journey has been a joyful one, where I turn my passion into delicious meals for myself and my loved ones. Whether I'm making something simple like sausage rolls or a complex dish like homemade sauces, I always aim for perfection in every meal. Cooking has become a way of expressing love and care, and I find immense satisfaction in bringing enjoyment through my creations.
So, the next time you cook, whether it's for yourself or someone else, remember that every dish you prepare is a reflection of your creativity and dedication. Happy cooking!
